Flow error handler
Power Automate has no try / catch action. The usual pattern is two scopes: a Try scope that holds the real work, and a Catch scope that only runs if the Try scope fails, is skipped or times out. Enter the Try scope's name and get the run-after configuration, an expression that pulls out the error message, and a notification body that includes the run ID.
Flow Error Handler
RUN-AFTER SETTINGS, ERROR EXPRESSIONS
AND A NOTIFICATION BODY, FROM ONE SCOPE NAME
Structure your flow as a Try scope, then a Catch scope configured with "run after" set to these statuses on the Try scope.
How to use it
- Put the actions that do the work inside a scope, for example one named Try scope.
- Enter its name as it appears in expressions: spaces become underscores, so Try scope is
Try_scope. - Add a second scope after it, open Configure run after, and tick the same statuses you chose here.
- Inside the Catch scope, send an email or Teams message using the error expression and notification body.
Nothing you type here is sent anywhere. The tool runs entirely in your browser.
